Chimney Cowl and Bird Guards WIrral Liverpool & CHester

We always recommend a cap or bird guard to be fitted

A bird guard will prevent a bird and any other small creatures such as squirrels from entering your chimney. Some bird guards will have a dual purpose and prevent rainfall, animals, leaves and debris from entering much like a chimney cowl. These usually have the metal mesh around them as well as a solid cap on the top

A bird's nest in your chimney leads to a build-up of unwanted materials in your flue and will need to be removed, Its unsafe to use any appliance while the chimney is blocked.

We can help with our chimney birds nest removal across Wirral

If you suspect the presence of birds nesting in your chimney, or nesting material in the fireplace. Please do not attempt to clear it from your chimney by lighting a fire, you will simply fill your home with smoke and cause other complications.

We use multiple ways and tools to remove birds nests from chimneys and utilize a modern CCTV cameras to make sure the flue/chimney is fully clear.

After the nest has been removed, we will do a full sweep to ensure your chimney is fully clean and ready for use, we can advise on possible cowls, caps etc once the nest has been removed to stop it occurring in the future.

Nests are protected by law and cannot usually be removed during the nesting season (usually between February-July) For more information get in touch and we can advise further.

What is a Chimney Cap and Do I Need One?

After a chimney is built, a chimney cap still remains to be added, though it is vital protection against moisture. The biggest enemy of masonry chimneys is water intrusion. Keeping rain and sleet out of the system requires a chimney cap plus all components of the chimney above the roofline remaining in good condition.

Chimney cowls are coverings that are attached to a working chimney and a cap is a covering used on disused chimneys.

A chimney bird guard also known as a chimney bird cover, is similar to a chimney cowl. They have a flat or domed top with a space underneath covered by a grill and they can be round or square. They are designed to allow air in and smoke out, while also keeping birds and squirrels out.
